‘Crow’ by Kiera Potter

I’m alone in the field of white
As the sun sets and kills the light
I hear a crow high in the sky
Only wanting to fly

I hear a whisper of sin
This is the life she lives in
A little girl, her way’s been lost
And now she’s paying the cost

I run as church bells ring
Behind me the crows sing
Running towards her cry
As she weeps her eyes dry

I look up to the sky
The question on my lips “why?”
I drop to my knees in pain
A soul wanting to live again

I can’t peel my eyes away
She couldn’t stomach another day
I can still hear her cries
As the crow slowly dies
